Sunderland AFC Regional Talent Club Chartered Physiotherapist (casual contract)

The Foundation of Light are looking to appoint a Chartered Physiotherapist for season 2019-20 with responsibility for the medical welfare of the players on the Sunderland RTC programme.

One of only 13 Regional Talent Clubs to carry Tier 1 status, Sunderland RTC is an essential pillar of the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway and is part-funded by the FA and supported by Durham County Football Association.

The RTC is recognised as one of the best in the country based on a number of factors including facilities, quality of coaching, education and coach and player development.

Players take part in a comprehensive training programme covering all areas and concepts of football, with teams taking part in the RTC Tier 1 North League against elite clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to continue the growth of women and girls’ football in the North East.

Successful applicants must hold:

  • Current Physiotherapy Degree
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health Professions Council
  • A recognised FA First Aid/CFAS qualification

The role requires approximately 12 hours per week and includes working evenings and weekends. There is an opportunity to be paid additional hours for working on Wednesday afternoons.

Tutor Post 16 Sport & Education: Full time 35 hours

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and ambitious tutor to join a new project within the Foundation of Light. The post 16 Sport & Education programme is growing quickly and includes our Coaches Academy, Men’s and Women’s Football Scholarship and our new Futsal Scholarship. These are all full-time courses that encourages 16-18 year olds with a passion for coaching, football and futsal to enhance their development as players and coaches through quality coaching and mentoring by being led by a team of highly qualified UEFA coaches. At the same time, our academic tutors will ensure the students gain a full education programme ensuring a wide range of options are available to every individual when they leave us.

Digital Marketing Manager (full time)

The Foundation of Light are looking to appoint a Digital Marketing Manager to own, develop and drive forward our digital marketing strategy. This is a key role for the organisation and will form a central part of a newly structured Marketing and Communications team.

We are looking for someone with a real passion for digital marketing and an eye for detail, to help us tell our stories better, improve customer interaction, grow our audiences and drive our commercial and fundraising objectives. The role will suit somebody who is analytical, technical but also with a thorough understanding of marketing and identifying opportunities.

We are looking for a team player who can work with colleagues in the marketing and communications team, but also across the wider organisation to ensure a joined-up approach which services the needs of the organisation. This is an exciting time to be joining the Foundation of Light as we continue to grow our delivery across our communities and develop a vibrant programme of activity and events at the Beacon of Light.

Skills Officer – Functional Skills Full Time 35 Hours

The Foundation is seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfil the exciting role of Functional Skills Officer as part of the Skills Team.

Through our pioneering facility, the Beacon of Light, it is the Foundation’s ambition to develop the employability of people across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham through quality education and skills delivery.

Working with our Skills Team, you will deliver non-accredited provision and a range of qualifications from Entry Level to Levels 1 and 2 Maths and English for learners aged 16+. You will have the ability to support learners to achieve their goals and qualifications through outstanding teaching and learning, whilst also ensuring the quality of delivery in line with Ofsted requirements and Foundation of Light policies and procedures.

The base for the post is our Learning Centre of Light in Peterlee, with delivery across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.

Foundation of Light are looking to recruit passionate and enthusiastic Football Coaches to work across our football pathway with participants in age groups ranging from 5 years to 16 years.

Our coaching staff must be professional, forward thinking and dedicated to achieving our objectives as part of a fast moving and hard-working team.

Earn money, help support local communities and watch Sunderland AFC in action!

Are you confident in a sales environment and able to communicate on all levels? Foundation of Light are looking for confident, outgoing people to sell ‘Grand in your Hand’ lottery tickets.

Job Role:

  • Selling lottery tickets to SAFC supporters on a match day, inside the Stadium of Light
  • Answering queries and giving information about Foundation of Light, SAFC’s official charity
  • Handling cash and taking payment for the ‘Grand in Your Hand’ tickets
  • Being highly motivated and able to sell to target audiences
  • Wearing Foundation of Light lottery seller uniform
