Pupils from Town End Academy celebrated International Women’s Day as part of Building a Stronger Britain Together programme.
The year 5 pupils who have been taking part in the eight-week programme created posters with each young person aiming to challenge myths, attitudes, stereotypes, and break down barriers between communities.
It is great to be able to celebrate important days like International Women’s Day. Linking the programme to significant days in the calendar really makes the youngsters think about their beliefs and helps raise awareness.
The Foundation of Light is one of 10 sports-based projects across the UK to receive funding and will be delivered to 9-19-year olds throughout the region.
Building a Stronger Britain Together programme, is centred in schools around anti-discrimination, tolerance and racism awareness.
