Jake Newton is the latest Black Cats fan to claim top prize in the Foundation of Light’s matchday lottery.
The Sunderland AFC season card holder became £1,000 richer thanks to the charity’s Ha’way and Play draw.
Jake has sat in the South Stand of the Stadium of Light for the past five years and attends games with his brothers, after regularly buying Ha’way and Play tickets when they were available online, he thought he’d try his luck buying a ticket in person – and it was definitely worth the £2 he paid!
“It was a nice surprise to win the matchday lottery.” Jake explained. “I do like to support the club’s charity and it had been a while since I took part, so I thought I’d try my luck and it paid off!”
Taking place at the Stadium of Light, fans can buy tickets ahead of every home game from sellers around the concourse – you’ll not miss them in their bright green hoodies!
Ha’way and Play tickets cost just £2 and everyone who enters has the chance to win £1,000 cash or a signed SAFC shirt.
The draw is made during second half of each SAFC home game, and the winning numbers are posted online, at the Stadium of Light and on the big screens.
