Foundation of Light in partnership with local housing provider Livin, are offering free activities for all the family to enjoy. Commencing 26th July, sessions include Footballing Star, Family Festival of Health and Better Skills Better Chances Next Steps, giving residents the opportunity to learn about healthier lifestyle and food choices and a one-to-one support for school leavers, who are not sure what to do next, unemployed or recently made redundant adults, and seeking help and advice to get their career on track.
  • Monday 26th July – Footballing Star and Festival of Health, 10am-12noon, 1-3pm. Middlestone Moor Community Centre, DL16 7BG
  • Wednesday 28th July – Better Skills, Better Chances - 10am-12noon, 1-3pm, 20 minute one-to one. 51-55 Church Street, Shildon, DL4 1DX
  • Friday 30th July – Footballing Star and Festival of Health, 10am-12noon, 1-3pm. Spennymoor Youth and community Centre, Spennymoor, DL16 6PP
Livin has an established track record of supporting its tenants into work and over the years its Livin Futures employability service has helped hundreds into jobs, training, or further education. As Livin’s community partner, the Foundation of Light have successfully been delivering family programmes in schools, youth work in communities and employability programmes to adults for several years in the South Durham area.
