The project is well established and has a proven track record of supporting young people aged 16-24 to achieve qualifications and progressions to employment, education or further training. With consistently high achievement rates and outcomes for learners, we are seeking a highly motivated and agile individual to maintain and build on our high standards of delivery to continue to make a real impact within our community.

Purpose of the role:

The Skills Officer is responsible recruiting, planning and delivery of the Back on Track programme, supporting learners to achieve a range of employment related qualifications. You will work with a team of tutors, including Maths and English specialists to progress learners to achieve their qualifications and you will support learners with progressions beyond the programme.

Haโ€™way and Play Lottery Matchday Draw Sellers (Home match days, 3 hours (weekends and evenings))

In 2020, the Foundation of Light re-launched a refreshed and revised match day lottery, Haโ€™Way and Play, which offers players more prizes as well as a new roll-over jackpot.

All monies raised from Haโ€™way and Play helps the Foundation of Light tackle some of the North East’s biggest challenges, making a life-changing difference to thousands of people and families across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.

As we look forward to welcoming fans back to the Stadium of Light for the 2021/22 season, we are looking for outgoing, part time lottery sellers to support the sale of Haโ€™way and Play lottery tickets on home match days at the Stadium of Light.

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, energetic and reliable and who are willing to interact with supporters.

Key duties will consist of:

  • Engaging with fans at the stadium prior to kick off, spreading awareness of the Haโ€™way and Play lottery
  • Proactively selling tickets to supporters in the corporate suites and on concourses, promoting the winnerโ€™s prize fund and charitable beneficiary
  • Handling cash transactions, card machines and the sale and distribution of Haโ€™way and Play lottery tickets.
  • Be responsible for meeting/and or exceeding designated sales goals per game.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • An ability to interact positively with Sunderland AFC supporters
  • To work with other highly motivated, high energy sellers
  • Outgoing personality to encourage fans to purchase.
  • Self-starter who will constantly challenge to increase their individual ticket sales.
  • Have knowledge of Foundation of Light and its current projects.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Additional hours and responsibilities may be available to the right candidates. Please note, due to gambling commission legislation we can only offer this position to candidates over the age of 16.ย  Full training will be provided.

Youth Engagement Officer (35 hours)

The Youth Engagement Officer is responsible for the planning and delivery of a series of diversionary activities/youth engagements, targeting hard to reach young people who have been involved in anti-social behaviour or at risk of becoming involved in crime/victims of criminal exploitation.ย  It is essential the applicant has a minimum of the Level 2 Youth Work qualification and a clean driving license.

The delivery of one-to-one and group mentoring will be the priority of the role, with both in-school and out-of-school mentoring. The position also involves the delivery of group lessons to families of the young person referred from key partners such as Northumbria Police or Together for Children.

The base for the post is the Beacon of Light, with delivery across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.

Sunderland AFC Regional Talent Club Chartered Physiotherapist (casual contract)

The Foundation of Light are looking to appoint a Chartered Physiotherapist for season 2019-20 with responsibility for the medical welfare of the players on the Sunderland RTC programme.

One of only 13 Regional Talent Clubs to carry Tier 1 status, Sunderland RTC is an essential pillar of the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway and is part-funded by the FA and supported by Durham County Football Association.

The RTC is recognised as one of the best in the country based on a number of factors including facilities, quality of coaching, education and coach and player development.

Players take part in a comprehensive training programme covering all areas and concepts of football, with teams taking part in the RTC Tier 1 North League against elite clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to continue the growth of women and girlsโ€™ football in the North East.

Successful applicants must hold:

  • Current Physiotherapy Degree
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health Professions Council
  • A recognised FA First Aid/CFAS qualification

The role requires approximately 12 hours per week and includes working evenings and weekends. There is an opportunity to be paid additional hours for working on Wednesday afternoons.
