Our early years education programmes here at Foundation of Light are fun education activities aimed at pre-school children.
A unique and innovative programme, Little Dribblers is specifically designed to engage young children aged 18 months to 5 years in fun sport and learning activities, while making friends and raising their confidence, independence and coordination.
Ran by our specialist coaches, Little Dribblers ensures that youngsters develop interpersonal skills, promote problem-solving skills and introduces concepts such as spatial awareness, all while having lots of fun with a football.
FAMILY LEARNING: LITTLE DRIBBLERS
Little Dribblers is ideal for parents who want to spend more quality time with their children and give them a healthy and active start in life.
The first half of each session is for adults in a classroom setting, getting parents more involved in school life and their youngster’s education, while one of our qualified Coaches works with the children playing physical, football games. The second half allows adults and children to play fun, practical games together.
The course improves physical skills such as agility, balance and coordination amongst children while building stronger relationships with their peers and parents.
As with all of our programmes, Little Dribblers is part of our Player Progression Pathway, with youngsters being guided into other age-relevant sessions as they get older.
Our popular Literacy programme teaches phonics through the fun and engaging environment of PE. With links to the National Curriculum, Footy Phonics adds a creative spin on teaching through the use of PE and storybook coaching.
Helping youngsters in their reading, writing with letters and sounds, our coaches also use engaging techniques such as use of I-pads, balloons and a host of PE equipment that would not be seen within a “literacy” lesson.
MAMBOS (Movement, Agility, Motor Control, Balance, Object Control, Sequences) is a new programme recently developed to aid an EYFS setting to meet the physical demands of its children.
The programmes’ key aim is to focus on a child’s fundamental movements, body control and manipulation of objects. In turn we will assess strengths and weaknesses of the group and plan accordingly.
Little Dribblers has been a fantastic experience for both myself and my daughter. She has got so much out of the physical challenges and experiences.
Little Dribblers is well organised and I have seen our children gain confidence and ability. The coaches are fantastic in the way they relate to the children.
