Programmes can restart and Beacon reopens to public
Following the latest update to government guidelines regarding national restrictions announced on Thursday 26 November, the Foundation of Light will recommence some of our previously suspended programmes: A full list of programme updates is listed below. The Beacon of Light will re-open to the general public from 7am to 7pm with bookings for outdoor 5-a-side pitches, 4G Barn and Arena are available by calling the reception team on 0191 563 4818. The health and safety of all our participants and staff is critical and we have a range of safety measures in place to ensure that the Beacon of Light, our outreach centres and associated Foundation of Light programmes, remain COVID secure. UPDATE ON PROGRAMMES: 
  • Game Play – recommences Monday 7th December
  • Little Skills – recommences Monday 7th December
  • Little Dribblers – recommences Monday 7th December in Beacon only
  • Foundation Community Clubs – recommences Monday 7th December
  • Player Development Centres - recommences Monday 7th December
  • Sunderland Regional Talent Centre – recommences Thursday 3rd December
  • One-on-one Coaching – recommences from Monday 7th December
  • Little Dribblers Playgroup – no activities until further notice
  • Pay and Play – 5-a-side and Barn available to affiliated clubs and U18s only
  • Badminton – pay and play in Beacon available for same household or support bubbles only
  • Table Tennis – pay and play in Beacon available for same household or support bubbles only
  • Netball – suspended until further notice
  • Extra Time Hub – online sessions only
  • Kicks – recommences at the Beacon and North Durham Academy from Friday 11th December
  • Making Moves – recommences from Monday 7th December
  • Fit Black Cats – recommences in the New Year

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • It is encouraged that, where possible, parents / guardians drop their children off for sessions, and collect them afterwards to ensure that social distancing is maintained
  • FA guidance on spectating is one parent / guardian per player. In the Beacon spectators can stand outside 5-a-side pitches or in the Barn Viewing Gallery but no spectators will be allowed into the Arena
  • Any spectators must ensure they follow social distancing guidelines and rule of six at all times.
  • There will be no socialising after sessions
  • The Beacon will continue to operate as usual for Beacon of Light School, Siblings Nursery, Military Preparation College, NHS services and FoL education programmes
  • Anyone entering the Beacon must scan the NHS Test and Trace QR code and register with the NHS Covid-19 App
  • Masks must be worn in all public areas of the Beacon
  • Hand sanitiser is available for everyone and all equipment regularly cleaned before, during and after sessions
  • A social distancing policy is in place and must be followed

Scores of youngsters enjoyed a day at the Beacon of Light with a difference thanks to Stagecoach Group after the UK's largest transport operator gave their backing to the Foundation's half-term holiday courses.
