Foundation of Light is inviting teachers and coaches to the Stadium of Light find out how they can help those with disabilities get more out of sport and education.
Delivered in partnership with Linrow Education, the FREE Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Awareness course will provide a greater understanding of these needs along with strategies to support inclusion within schools or sports clubs.
Taking place on Wednesday 18th April (6-9pm), the course will give delegates through practical and classroom-based activities:
- A broad SEN understanding to allow access and learning for all.
- Strategies recognised by Ofsted as good practice.
- Ongoing support through a range of specific modules.
The evening will be led by Foundation of Light’s specialist coaches who have experience of delivering a wide range of disability programmes to ensure young people and adults across the North-East can enjoy sport, an active lifestyle and build friendships.
Making Moves, the charity’s disability coaching team, deliver fun, exciting and challenging sessions and activities which help develop gross motor skills, balance and coordination as well as encouraging teamwork, communication and confidence.
Foundation of Lightโs disability programmes and coaching are supported by leading sofa and carpet specialists SCS and the PL/BT Disability Fund.
If you would like to know more or book a place, call 0191 5515309 or email kevin.darke@foundationoflight.co.uk.
