Two of the North East’s leading Regional Talent Clubs are teaming up to offer a unique insight into coaching and player development philosophies at the elite level.
The North East Girls Football Coaching CPD event, run in partnership between Sunderland and Gateshead RTC, Durham RTC and Northumberland FA, is FREE for coaches who are involved or have an interest in developing girls’ grassroots football.
The session, at Northumbria University’s High Performance Centre (NE7 7XA) on Monday 21st May (6-9pm), will include both classroom and practical coaching activities focusing on:
- Regional Talent Club coaching practices
- Coaching and player development philosophies of Sunderland and Gateshead RTC and Durham RTC
- Girls’ Player Pathway in the North East
- The standard of technical ability required for the Foundation Phase of the RTC programme (U10-U12 players).
The Regional Talent Club format was introduced in 2016 with the aim of improving the delivery of elite girls’ football development.
Sunderland and Gateshead RTC and Durham RTC are members of 34 clubs and centres which deliver coaching and education to the best young female footballers in the country.
Clubs grouped into three tiers, dependent on their facilities, workforce, coach and player development, performance service provision and the number of age groups they work with.
