Foundation of Light's Football Scholarship programme will be well-represented at this weekend's inaugural National Football Youth League All-Star Game.
Monkwearmouth Scholars Aaron Thompson, Alex Ramshaw and Josh King will join England Schools international Cieran Jackson, Dane Eltringham, Lewis King and Kieran Parnaby in the NFYL's North Squad to take on players from the Southern-based teams at
Lilleshall National Sports Centre on Sunday (1pm kick off).
Shildon Scholars coaches Alan Young and Carlton Fairweather have also been named joint coaches for the northern side.
The youngsters head into the showpiece on the back of a successful season for the Scholarship programme, with their respective sides fighting it out for the NFYL Midlands Division title.
We're very proud to see so many Monkwearmouth and Shildon players named in the NFYL's All-Star squad.
Both sides have performed extremely well this season and to be given this opportunity to be given this platform to impress on a national level is deserved recognition for their hard work.
