Foundation increases awards portfolio

Foundation of Light was recognised at Sunderland Echo’s Portfolio Awards recently picking up the Special Community prize.

Foundation directors Phil King and Jamie Wright collected the award at the annual ceremony held at the Stadium of Light on Thursday 1st November, which recognised achievement and excellence across Wearside.

We’re delighted to receive this award, especially when we were in such a strong category with some great nominees.

This award is testament to the fantastic team we have at the foundation who share our vision for a better future for everyone.

Jamie Wright, Assistant Director for Sales and Delivery

Phil King, Assistant Director (Commercial) added “The Portfolio Awards are renowned for showing off the best that the region has to offer and we’re incredibly proud to be considered part of it.”

“Like many of the other award winners we’re dedicated to improving life in Wearside, and the wider north east, and we’re glad that the judges recognised our efforts to achieve this.”

Foundation of Light were also shortlisted for the Social Enterprise and Best Training Provider Categories, and the Beacon of Light was shortlisted for Best Leisure Business.

The award win is Foundation of Light’s second in a month alongside the ‘Uniquely North East’ gong at the North East Charity Awards.
