Beacon of Light announces new prices
The award-winning Beacon of Light has today announced a change in prices, including a price reduction to hire its state-of-the-art 5 a side pitches.
The Beacon of Light is Sunderland’s newest community sports and education facility, located on Stadium Park. Boasting six 3G 5 a side pitches, a large multi-sport Indoor Arena and a 4G rooftop football pitch, what makes this facility special is that all proceeds from the Beacon are donated to local charity, Foundation of Light to support the charity’s work across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Durham.
Taking effect from 1st November 2019, football fans can now hire the 5 a side pitches overlooking the Stadium of Light and the River Wear, for as little as £25 an hour off peak and £40 an hour during peak times, making the pitches some of the best value to hire in Sunderland.
The Beacon has also announced a price freeze on bookings for its Indoor Arena, with spaces bookable from just £30 per hour off peak and £40 per hour at peak times.
General Manager of the Beacon of Light Phil King said “In the first year of trading we have welcomed over 200,000 people into the building. We have received some amazing feedback and reviews about all aspects of the building, and it is fantastic to see it being used by so many people on a day to day basis.
Our 5 a side pitches are some of the best in the city and are unique – not only are they set in a stunning location but everyone who plays on them is helping the Foundation of Light to make a difference to thousands of people’s lives across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Durham.
Prices:
5 a side leagues are run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Beacon of Light with hundreds of people already playing each week. We are currently recruiting for teams in our Wednesday night league with the new season kicking off on Wednesday 13th November, with a pre-season mini tournament being held on Wednesday 6th November.
The ever popular SAFC InBusiness League runs on Thursdays and gives businesses a unique way to network.
The Beacon of Light is the only 5 a side venue to offer its league winners the chance to be presented with their trophy and medals at a SAFC home game, in a special pitchside ceremony at the Stadium of Light.
