Our Women and Girls programmes here at Foundation of Light aim to provide opportunities for females aged 5+ to take part in the sport in a local community setting.
We deliver innovative sessions such as UV Football to emphasise the fun, social element of the sport and Soccercise that uses football as way to keep fit.
For participants who want to progress in the game, we provide opportunities to join our Player Development Squads and the Sunderland and Gateshead Girls’ Regional Talent Club, which offers a pathway to develop a career with Sunderland AFC Ladiesย and the potential to go on and represent England.

The image of women's football has changed dramatically with so many young girls inspired to play football. It is important we raise awareness of the opportunities available to them if they want to follow a career within the sport.
There are no sessions on in this area at present
When I was younger I was the only girl of my age playing football and it often became a bit competitive. Playing alongside girls at SAFC's Centre of Excellence not only helped me develop as a player but also as an individual too.
